1973-1974
Francisco Copello returned to Chile in late 1972 with the hope of expanding his Body Art in his native country, preparing the performance "Piece for the Insane" at the invitation of the director of the National Museum of Fine Arts, Nemesio Antúnez. The piece was never performed due to the coup d’état, and only recordings from the rehearsals have survived. After the coup, Copello left on a representative mission to the 12th São Paulo Biennial and then returned to live in the USA, where he completed his "Calendar", which he had begun in Chile, before settling for a year in Berkeley, California.
